SARR OPENS NEW WELCH FARM MAPS STATION IN CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC

Southern Appalachian Raptor Research is excited to initiate the new Welch Farm MAPS station in 2015, to monitor the bird community at the historic Welch Farm site in Marble, NC.  The first Welch Farm (WEFA) MAPS sample is scheduled to open this week and continue thru summer 2015 on selected dates. The Welch Farm MAPS bird monitoring project is funded with the support of the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee and the Cherokee Preservation Foundation. All interested persons are welcome to visit and volunteer during any of the sample dates.  No experience is necessary and no fee is required. Sampling occurs from sunrise until noon, and sample dates can be found on the SARR website calendar page at: https://bigbaldbanding.org/calendar/. Please note that sampling dates change frequently due to weather, so check the calendar often and call SARR to confirm before attending a sampling event. See you at WEFA!
